Librarian
The Librarian of S.U. College, Hilsa (Nalanda) manages all academic and administrative operations of the college library. The librarian ensures access to learning resources, maintains a student-friendly environment, and supports the academic growth of students and faculty through an organized and updated information system.
The college library serves as a knowledge hub that provides books, journals, e-resources, reading spaces, and research assistance, thereby contributing significantly to teaching, learning, and research.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Managing library operations including acquisition, cataloguing, and circulation of books.
- Assisting students and faculty in locating reading materials and reference resources.
- Maintaining digital and physical databases of books, journals, and e-resources.
- Ensuring discipline, cleanliness, and a conducive reading environment in the library.
- Organizing library orientation, user education programs, and reading awareness activities.
- Preserving rare books, reference materials, and academic archives.
- Maintaining the library’s stock register and issuing/returning records.
- Coordinating with vendors, publishers, and departments for academic resource needs.
